Peace Day – The International Day of Peace is observed around the world each year on September 21st. Established by the United Nations in 1981, Peace Day provides a globally shared date for all humanity to commit to Peace above all differences and to contribute to building a Culture of Peace.
Resident students gather in the convent chapel to participate in special prayer. Flags surround the altar representing the student’s countries. Students pray and read quotes of peace from many people around the world and throughout history. Praying the Mission Rosary reminds students that through prayer the world will achieve peace.
